ABOUT LAUREN

My first memory of interior design was when I was about 10 years old. I remember that my mom had gotten a discontinued wallpaper book from somewhere and I spent a whole day tracing and cutting out Winnie the Pooh characters from the old wallpaper pages and taping them up on the wall in my bedroom in a fun scene. Designing place has always been an ingrained desire and a skill I have sharpened over time, education and experience.

After earning my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Indiana Wesleyan University I was given the opportunity to return to school to pursue my degree in Interior Design. I graduated from Ivy Tech Community College with an Associate’s degree in Environmental (Interior) Design. I have worked for the last four and a half years at a local family-owned furniture retailer, L. J. Wagner Home Interiors, as a Sales and Design Consultant. My time at L. J. Wagner deepened my knowledge of furniture design and construction, flooring and window treatments. I was blessed in 2018-2019 with the opportunity to work with the Boys & Girls Club of Elkhart County to design the interior of the new Shea and Leavitt Families Nappanee Clubhouse.

My passion for interiors is so much deeper than just making pretty places, but rather creating complete design solutions. Really great design must have a purpose. The built environment has such an affect on how we live and I believe there is a deeper significance to creating well-designed spaces than just aesthetic enjoyment. I read once that “Design is where science and art break even” (author unknown). By combining the beauty of art and the exactness of science we create the best solution for purposeful living. I would love the opportunity to help you construct a design solution for your space; be it your home, office or commercial business. If you are interested in finding out more about the design process contact me today. I can’t wait to get started!
